SkySpecs is an Ann Arbor based software company that develops autonomous drone systems to automate infrastructure inspection and maintenance. SkySpecs' inspection drone requires only the single push of a button to start the inspection. From that point forward the drone collects all of the images and measurements completely on its own without any prior information. SkySpecs analyzes the data to provide predictive maintenance reports and repair recommendations.
Danny Ellis is the CEO and cofounder of SkySpecs and is a two-time graduate of the University of Michigan with his BSE and MSE in Aerospace Engineering. He has been recognized as a leading entrepreneur receiving both the 2014 Detroit Crain's à µœ in their 20's" award and the 2016 Forbes à µ | under 30" award. While at the University, Danny founded the Michigan Autonomous Aerial Vehicles team, taught Eng 100 – Introduction to Aerospace Engineering, and worked at the Wilson Center. Danny has stayed in Ann Arbor and regularly guest lectures at the University.
